My kids love to do DIY projects so this bubble gum scented Valentine playdough is the perfect activity to do with them. One thing they love to do is make things with their hands and I enjoy letting them be creative. Making your own play dough is really fun and easy to do.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
- 1 cup water
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 Tablespoon bubblegum flavoring
- 2-3 drops pink food coloring (Amazon link below)
In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, salt and cream of tartar. Whisk to combine and set aside.
In a large saucepan, add the water, oil, bubblegum flavoring and pink food coloring. Whisk to distribute the oils and coloring evenly.
Add the flour mixture and stir well until the flour lumps have disappeared. Heat the saucepan under medium heat. Stir constantly until a stiff ball of dough forms (3-4 minutes). (It will resemble a thick lump of mashed potatoes). Remove from heat.
Knead the warm playdough on a flat workspace for about 5 minutes. Enjoy the sweet aroma of bubblegum as you use your fingers to make the dough soft and pliable.
Use Valentine cookie cutters and sprinkles to make special Valentine “treats” from your bubblegum scented Valentine playdough. ENJOY!!
*Store in an airtight plastic bag for up to 2 weeks.
You can also add in fun additions like sprinkles since this dough is totally edible!!!
