This summer I wanted to encourage each of my girls to pick a new book series and read it. Being that my middle child loved the Percy Jackson series, she was thrilled to start The Trials of Apollo series by Rick Riordan. Don’t miss the giveaway at the end of this post if you want a chance to read it too!

The Trials of Apollo is a series filled with adventure that’s hilarious yet also exciting. The series features the Greek God, Apollo, who is turned into a teenager. He must restore the five ancient Oracles in order to be able to return to Mount Olympus.
The second book in the series gets right into a hair-raising journey across North America. Apollo is determined to help the Oracles that have gone dark and Apollo is in for a harrowing adventure. The third books heads to the American Southwest and, with the help of his demigod friends, finds an oracle that only speaks in puzzles. The fourth book really sets up the finale with Apollo once again finding the help of his friends. There is a last stand against an emperor and a forgotten tomb that leads into the last and final book which will release this fall.

My kiddo is so excited about the last and final book of this series that is being released this October 6, 2020, called The Tower of Nero. So we had a challenge. If she finished the series we would celebrate with our very own Camp Half-Blood, right in our back yard!

To get started I created this FREE Camp Half-Blood Backyard Camping Activity Checklist printable. It has simple and fun ideas to get outside, and have some fun the demigod way, at our very own Camp Half-Blood!

Each book in the story is filled with adventure but we also loved the humor you will find throughout. I couldn’t think of a better way to end the series and get ready for the last book than with an ultimate backyard camping night!
