It’s finally summer which means the kids are out of school. We’re working on our summer reading, which we’re taking care of by going through the entire Percy Jackson and the Olympians series before the end of this summer. Brooklin is done with Book 2: The Sea of Monsters and just startedBook 3: The Titan’s Curse

In these books Percy’s story continues with our hero trying to find out if being claimed as Poseidon’s son is an honor or simply a joke. Percy goes on a major quest in book 2, where the series’ main adventure really starts to unfold, leading into book 3. Percy is a problem solver and there’s a lot in store for him, and I have to say that by the end of the second book Brooklin was beyond excited to start the third. This is exactly why I wanted her to pick a series for summer reading: so she’d be eager to move from one book to the next.

We’ve been looking for ways to incorporate the books we are reading this summer into some fun activities, and so I created this outdoor adventure hunt. To participate, you can download this FREE Percy Jackson Outdoor Adventure Hunt Printable.

You can help make Percy Jackson and the Olympians come to life on your next trip to the beach with this themed adventure hunt for items your kiddos can easily find along any beach. My daughter Brooklin loved that it was like a treasure map. She had so much fun bringing the series to life in a realistic way before getting back to reading.

You can learn more about the series by Rick Riordan on ReadRiordan.com Do your kids plan on reading any series this summer? Join us in reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians before summer’s end!

We used to do lots of treasure hunt on the beach when my daughter was younger, so much fun. She loved it so much, we had to take her to the beach every week, luckily we are at 15 miles from it.

You just brought back such happy memories! As a school principal I helped run an afterschool book club and one year all we read were Percy books! So fun!
