Everything Disney Family Travel Tips Family Travel With Kids Keeping Busy

Lets face it, from time to time things need to be kept up the date.

Starting August 19th, 2019 – Dec 17th, 2019 Aulani a Disney Resort & Spa will undergo construction. I wanted to share some valuable tips for staying during the construction at Aulani this fall. First up and most importantly – DO NOT let it keep you from booking your vacation.

There’s actually some real plus sides to the construction going on like you can save up to 30% off during your stay, take advantage of a FREE one day rental car from Alamo, plus kids ride FREE on the Hele Hele shuttle to and from the airport. That’s not all folks either you will also get a $50.00 room credit for each night of your stay. That means you can charge anything to your room during your stay to use those credits.

PHASE ONE  Aug 19- Oct 11th

Phase one of the construction is going to affect the Waikalohe Stream which is the very popular lazy river located right in the Waikalohe Valley. The Menehune Bridge will also be closed that is a kid’s water playground. Don’t worry though the Keiki Cove splash zone and kids play area will still be open for the kiddos to enjoy. The Tubestone Curl waterslide will also be closedThere’s still a ton of kids activities, pools, spas and play areas for kids that are still open.

PHASE TWO Oct 14-Dec 17th

Phase two will affect the main pool area the Waikalohe pool, spa, Volcanic Vertical Waterslide in the Pu’u Kilo. It will also most notably affect Rainbow Reef which is Aulani’s private snorkeling environment. There’s also some closures on the Lava Shack and Mama’s Snack Shop but there will be updated offerings and snack areas still open. With the main pool being closed in phase two the resort will be opening the adult only pool for all guests to use.

There’s still so much to see and do at the resort and if you’re flexible with your stay and the construction property you’re bound to have a magical time!
