FEATURED Fun Foods for Families Holiday Recipes Uncategorized

This post was created in partnership with Juicy Juice®. All opinions are my own.

Did you know it’s official! Parents have killed the holiday kids table. More than half of all parents (61%) opt to have everyone sit together during holiday meals. Goodbye, grown-ups only! A new survey from Juicy Juice found that 94% of parents prepare some (or all!) of the holiday meal themselves, despite busy schedules.

As we get ready for Thanksgiving we are starting to prepare all of our meal ideas. One thing I always like to do is plan for the kiddos in the family and I know when it comes to dessert my kids aren’t a big fan of your traditional pie. Plus I like to keep things clean and simple and putting any fun twist on pie is always something our kids always enjoy.

We love finding unique ways to sweeten desserts naturally like using Juicy Juice® 100% Juice, White Grape. It’s 100% juice and contains no high fructose corn syrup, no added sugar and no artificial sweeteners – the sweetness comes right from the fruit! It tastes great, so not only do we serve it during Thanksgiving and throughout the year but it’s a great addition to add extra flavor to any recipe. Our family loves the taste of Juicy Juice, it’s made from real fruit picked at its ripest, juiciest peak. So it really is 100% juice, with no added sugar – goodness, made juicy!

To make these kid friendly cinnamon apple grape walnut pies for Thanksgiving I like to keep things simple

Ingredients –

  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • 1/3 cup Juicy Juice 100% Juice, White Grape flavor
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 TSP pumpkin pie spice
  • store bought pie crust
  • 1/4 cup of walnuts

I just like to start out by preheating the oven to 375 degrees. Then chopping the pear and the apple for the filling. Keeping this simple means that you can easily bake these up anytime this fall. Plus they’re so simple that the kiddos can even help make these. I used a simple pie mold that I had but you can easily do these with just cutting dough or using a cookie cutter that is large and has a shape that you like.

Adding the Juicy Juice® 100% White Grape Juice really does add a delicious flavor to the pie plus it does help add a touch of sweetness so you don’t have to use as much sugar in the recipe. I love that Juicy Juice has products I can feel good giving my family and I think this juice is the perfect addition to this delicious recipe idea.

Once you’ve diced everything just add the sugar, pumpkin pie spice and the juice. I like to let everything sit for a half an hour so the flavors can come together then fill the dough. You could also fill the dough right away.

Fill each dough piece with filling then press together. Cinnamon Apple Grape Walnut Pies For Thanksgiving

You can prep the pan with a little butter and allow each pie pocket to bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. If you want also tip each one with a little sugar and cinnamon mixture for extra flavor. Cinnamon Apple Grape Walnut Pies For Thanksgiving

My kiddos just love these. They’re perfect for the kids table this Thanksgiving!!
