As we start to get ready for Valentine’s Day I’m one of those moms who just loves to have fun. I enjoy making my kids fun lunchboxes and love watching their faces light up when you turn something ordinary into something truly extraordinary. Simple things too like heart shaped foods or fun theme lunches. I know my girls will look back and remember the special little things that made their childhoods so filled with joy. It’s almost February and it’s all about the heart shaped food with our girls. I picked up some new Pillsbury Thin Crust Pizza Dough at our local store with the intention of making pizza pockets. I have a heart shaped baking pan and thought it would be the perfect mold for our pizza pockets. The great thing about easy recipes is that I can allow my older girls in the kitchen to help cook. These are easily things that your kids can help with and something they will enjoy doing. We use a simple pizza sauce and some fresh basil and mozzarella cheese.
Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Top the pizza crust with another piece of pizza crust and pinch the side together.
After ours baked they came out in a perfect heart shape.
These are perfect for quick snacks for kids or even a fun addition to a lunch box. They’re cheese and you can even add your own toppings like fresh veggies or even pepperoni. These are super simple and our girls ate them up!
Going to be with two of my grandkids today. Think we’ll give these a try when they come home from school. They’ll love making them. Treat.
This is such a fun ideas! I’ll have to do this for my kids!
