Disclosure: I’m proud to be working with CVS Pharmacy to help spread the word about #BetterHealthMadeEasy and how to #FindYourHealthy. All opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.

Part of our family lifestyle is that we are an active family. We enjoy spending time outside and hiking and camping can be especially fun. Having small children, it’s important to us that our family fitness is also fun. Often on the trail we play games and sing songs…we even play fun math games.

Before we go camping or hiking we always stock up on healthy snacks. We can easily stop at CVS Pharmacy and find some of our favorite snacks like I Heart Keenwah’s Quinoa Puffs and trendy products such as Watermelon Water and Navitas Naturals Organic Goji Berries. We specifically love the Quinoa Puffs—a fan favorite with an extra crunch that our girls always enjoy. I like to allow each of our girls to pick their own healthy snacks while shopping at CVS Pharmacy, which gives them the opportunity to get something they really want and enjoy it on the trail.Best Healthy Snacks For Hiking

healthy hiking snacksHiking with kids means that you have to be prepared. We always stay prepared with healthy snacks that are easy to take along with us on the trail.
healthy hiking snacksJust stopping for a snack and water can be essential for kids while hiking. We typically pick trails that are longer than two miles so we rest in the shade and enjoy a snack. Also staying prepared for the heat is essential so we carry a lot of water.—some of our favorites are Gold Emblem abound Pure Brazilian Coconut Water and BIG CHILL Water. We also stay prepared with a first aid kit with essential first aid products like bandages andgauze which you can find right at your local CVS.
healthy snacks for kidsThere are so many wonderful memories you can make with your family while hiking. Our girls love to play hide and seek along the trail and it is a fun hiking activity for kids to do. We also like to play trail ABC’s where each of us takes turn finding something in the forest that represents each letter of the alphabet. It keeps them engaged and excited about the trail ahead.

What I love about shopping for healthy snacks at CVS Pharmacy is that they have all the brands we know and love. CVS actually carries more than 175 organic items plus more than 250 fresh and healthy refrigerated foods. I love that I can easily stock up on organic and gmo-free foods for our family without having to run all over town. We can also pick up essentials like health products that we may need along the way, and I always grab an extra pack of wipes too for cleanup.

You can find a CVS Pharmacy location near you on their website. You can also shop all of the Fit Choices at your local CVS Pharmacy.

We don’t hike but we are big fans of homemade jerky. Not everyone likes jerky of course, so these would be grat for everyone.

These are just the kinds of snacks I’d want to bring along. Fruits can really keep you going when you’re tired and so can protein bars!

The kids enjoy hiking and of course a good snack also. These are great choices. We always have fresh fruit, veggies, crackers and string cheese and plenty of drinks.
