Holiday Recipes Valentine's Day Ideas

As we get ready for Valentine’s Day I always get excited. February is my birthday month so I love that I get to celebrate something fun with my girls. This last year was all about the emoji. Our girls being into technology they’re all about the emoji’s. In fact, they want emoji’s on everything. There’s pillows, and jeans, and sweatshirts, and lip gloss and everything else in between. If there’s an emoji on it, our girls want it. Valentine’s Day is also all about love and sweet treats so I totally think these emoji oreo’s are the perfect Valentine treat!

Emoji Valentine Oreo Recipe

Yields: 1 dozen

Ingredients

  • Cookie/candy mold (Amazon link below)
  • 12 Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup Wilton yellow chocolate melts
  • Red cookie decorator icing
  • Black cookie decorator icing

DIRECTIONS
Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper and set aside. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, microwave the yellow chocolate melts for 45 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir. Continue to microwave in 10 second increments until melted and smooth.  Fill each cookie mold with 2 tablespoons of the melted yellow chocolate. Place an Oreo cookie on top and then spoon additional melted chocolate  over the Oreos, up to the top of each mold.
Then chill for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden. Once chilled, gently pop each cookie out of the mold and place on the lined cookie sheet. With the red decorator icing, pipe 2 hearts for the eyes of each emoji cookie. With the black decorator icing, pipe a smile on each cookie.

Then set aside and allow them the frosting to harden. These are such a fun treat that kids are going to love!!
