dryer_energy-star_0We are a family that cares a lot about protecting the environment and we are very tech oriented so Best Buy is committed to positively impacting the environment and our communities. Best Buy provides our customers with a wide assortment of sustainable products.

This includes offering a large selection of energy-efficient products, including ENERGY STAR® certified consumer electronics and appliances. ENERGY STAR items are great for many reasons. They are efficient and usually the newest technology. But what is the biggest factor when considering ENERGY STAR products is the savings in electricity charges. Living in Southern California our energy bill can get high with the AC and just higher than normal bills. So for items that stay on a lot like TVs, Dryers, Sound Bars for music and TV, they draw a lot of energy.

For us all the extra energy adds up. If we use so much we get pushed into higher tiers with her per watt charges. Shopping at Best Buy for electronics and appliances I know Best Buy is committed to providing sustainable products. More comes with sustainable products like a more positive impact on the environment and communities.

Best Buy provides a wide assortment of ENERGY STAR certified consumer electronics and appliances. And when we all start doing our part to deduce energy usage it adds up.

  • In 2015, Best Buy customers purchased enough ENERGY STAR® certified products to collectively save $67,120,515 in annual energy costs.
  • In 2015, Best Buy customers purchased ENERGY STAR® certified products to collectively save enough energy to help power 70,538 households for a year.
  • In 2015, Best Buy customers purchased enough ENERGY STAR® certified Audio Equipment and Sound Bars to collectively help prevent the greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing 2,013 cars from the road for an entire year.

Other benefits to ENERGY STAR certified consumer electronic products include more than just electrical draw. Features include usage modes including: sleep, idle, and on helping to reduce on time. ENERGY STAR is a smart choice for people interested in reducing energy bill which ultimately saves money.

When shopping for ENERGY STAR products look for the two price tags: the purchase price and the cost of operating the product. ENERGY STAR certified products saves money on operating costs by reducing energy expenses without sacrificing features.

ENERGY STAR Products at Best Buy:

Sound Bar: ENERGY STAR certified audio/video equipment, including sound bars are up to 50 percent more efficient than typical models. Save on energy costs by bundling ENERGY STAR certified televisions and sound bars with other products.

Dryers: ENERGY STAR certified dryers use 20 percent less energy than conventional models. The savings come from the use of moisture sensors that detects when clothes are dry to automatically shut the dryer off. Many ENERGY STAR dryers also include convenient features, such as steam cycles that can help save time on ironing clothes by preventing wrinkles.

80 percent of American homes have a clothes dryer. If clothes dryers sold were ENERGY STAR certified, we could save $1.5 billion each year in utility costs. This also prevents greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to more than 2 million vehicles. Look for the ENERGY STAR label.
