We all have those days, you know the days that you feel like everything bad has conspired to happen against you. I had the opportunity to partner with Awestruck to share my story about one of those days.

I joke around often that I should have named my blog my chaotic life because while it’s pretty ordinary that also means that with three little ones we have a whole lot of chaos. In between my work and running around my kids to all their activities each day it’s safe to say that I have plenty of moments that make me feel like I’ve finally hit the wall. You know when you just want to break down, be it a bad day or a bad week.

With Awestruck being a network for moms it was fun to partner with Awestruck to tell my story. Awestruck is the lifestyle site for millennial moms like myself, I often find funny and inspirational content on the site when I just need a moment to myself. When Awestruck asked me to tell them about one of my breaking mom moments I thought back to one of our many chaotic dance recital days. brooklin dance

My girls are very involved with dance so it’s safe to say that we have plenty of chaotic moments along the way. In this video with Awestruck I share the story about one of our worst dance recitals but in the end I actually remember it as one of our best and most memorable days. My in laws were in town and it just felt like everything had conspired against me that day. Even funnier is the fact that the marker is still on the toilet seat to this day. I kind of feel like that makes me a hot mess mom but just like with motherhood as a whole, I’m still just learning as I go.

Check out my Awestruck Breaking Mom Video –

This day was just like other days though, filled with chaos and moments that made me feel like I was just going to tear my hair out. It was also filled with sweet moments too, moments that make it all worth it. That’s how our life is, that’s why I call us ordinary because we’re not perfect. We are just living life and trying to have a little fun along the way. doing brooklins hair

Oh I’ve had several mom moments that felt catastrophic at the time.
I knew my tire was “going” but it was the same day my son’s asthma flared up. He begged me to take him to the doctor. As soon as we made it there, I could hear the air leaking from my tire.
In the middle of the exam, my son threw up all over himself. We had to throw away his clothes and drape him in a gown – then I had to call Uber to take is home. Thank goodness the Uber driver didn’t think I was crazy as I lugged my car seat into her car and strapped in my half naked child.

That’s the crazy part of motherhood- you have this plan in your head of the way it’s supposed to be- and then life happens and your kids have their own agendas and it ends up being nothing like what you thought it would be and yet it is EXACTLY as it should be. Loving the AWESTRUCK youtube channel.

We all have one of those days! It’s all part of being a mother, but it can also feel a little overwhelming especially when it doesn’t seem to end! I’m glad it’s still a memorable day for all of you though!

I love this so much. Why, you ask? Because real life is an amazingly gigantic bomb waiting to go off. But those bombs are generally what makes life memorable!
