Did you know that instead of heading outside to play children ages 8 to 18 are spending an average of 7 hours and 38 minutes using entertainment media in a typical day. We are a digital family and our girls do have their own phones so we make time to get outside and get active. Whether it’s going to one of our local parks or beaches or just playing a fun game on our front lawn.
3 Simple Tips For Getting Your Kids Out To Play
- Go Explore and Be Active – There are so many ways to explore the areas right around your home. Go for a hike, find a nature path, head to a local park and festival and walk around. We like to head to our local park with our pets and run around, we just like to make sure to get outside and play. Weekends are specially great times to get out and be active as a family.
- Visit A National Park – Did you know that there are National Parks all over this country? You’ll easily find a local National Park close to you on their website. We like to challenge ourselves to take road trips to visit new parks and we’ve made so many wonderful memories as a family on these trips.
- See Your Neighborhood – Start with taking walks around your neighborhood together. Take your pets for a walk or just get out and ride bikes. We try to get outside and just play. Our lawn provides a wonderful space for us play.
This summer, TruGreen wants to inspire more people to spend more time outside creating memories with their families and truly experience the joys of being together outdoors. Time spent in the cool lush grass after a hot summer day is time well spent and our girls love to play games and run around in the grass.
