We live in Southern California and road trips occur all to easily, and this is true with many people. From people traveling for things to do, or commuting to work, there are a lot of people on the road. We keep them busy and having fun with the Fire Tablet from Amazon.

For the kids, the Fire is perfect. With the free Amazon FreeTime app, I can control what my kids access and add users with ease. FreeTime allows me to set times, create education goals for reading, and more. I really like that I can set an amount of reading time I want them to complete before they get access to movies, games, and app.

Also great about Amazon FreeTime is the ease and homepage created for young tablet users. These customized home pages can be setup with apps and entertainment I find suitable. I can also add in programs and programming I like. Amazon FreeTime lets us parents really take control with screen time limits. With Amazon FreeTime’s Bed Time feature it is easy to stop kids from playing and reading past their bedtime.

For Amazon Prime members, On Deck will download the new episodes and first episodes for Amazon original Series when our Tablet isn’t in use. This makes sure there is always something to watch. And with Amazon Prime there are so many shows and movies to enjoy for free with membership!

Tablets and smartphones are bad for kids and their development. The real problem is that young children’s eyes focussed for long periods of time on a short distance without blinking could cause serious issues to eye development.

Kindle Fires are awesome for kids! My niece and nephew love theirs and the car is the place they use them the most. I love mine too! The bigger screen is nice to have some times.

Kindle Fires are great for kids and adults. I purchased a Kindle Fire for my son last December with the warranty. When it dropped and the screen cracked they sent a new one to our house in two days. The warranty is for 2 years or three breaks! How amazing is that. It is awesome for kids.

I find that technology like this in the car makes for a much smoother road trip. I did learn this week after calling Amazon about a problem that the Fire has some parental controls even a desktop computer does, which is useful.
