Healthy Family Lifestyle Keeping Busy

We are happy to partner with Neutrogena on this post. All opinions are our own.

Sun hats in the poolLiving in southern California we spend a lot of time outdoors, our summers are filled with days in the sun and time on the water. It’s important that I take care of my skin and also as the mom to three that I also take care of their skin. Keeping our girls happy and healthy is very important to us.

I know my girls like doing everything that I do, I even find them wearing my sunhats in the pool. I think one of the most important things is to make sunscreen application fun, also my girls seeing me apply sunscreen on myself is important. I always make sure to keep around several types of sunscreen, Neutrogena also has a Wet Skin sunscreen that is great for kids. They can jump out of the pool to reapply and then go back in for more fun. Neutrogena Sunscreen

For faces you have to get the Wet Skin Kids stick, it makes applying sunscreen on faces so simple and it’s again safe for the water. The Wet Skin Kids products are my favorite because you can apply them to sweaty or wet skin, which makes reapplying a breeze.

As we head into the 4th of July I know we plan on spending a lot of time outdoors, it’s time to have “the talk” with your kids. You know the skin and summer safety talk. It’s so important that kids take sun safety very seriously this summer so I’m using some of these fun tips to help encourage my kids to stay sun safe!

Neutrogena found that children best adopt sun-safe habits by watching their parents apply sunscreen on themselves. This educates your children about sun safety early on and so they grow up to adopt the same healthy behaviors.

As part of the campaign, Neutrogena teamed up with Kristen Bell who brings this #MimicMommy hilarious video to life and it shows how parents can really have “The Talk” with their kids.

Give Back – For every view on the video share Neutrogena will donate $1 up to 15,000 to the Children’s Melanoma Prevention Foundation which is a non-profit organization committed to preventing skin cancer, one child at a time.

How are you going to have “the talk” with your kids this summer?

We spend our summers in Italy, pretty much on the beach every day! They know all too well how important it is for them to apply sunscreen, and also reapply once they’ve been in the water for long periods of time!

That video is so funny! WE live in Colorado so we see sun pretty much every day, even in the winter. We wear sunscreen year round. So important to teach your kiddos about this. Sunburn is not fun and super unhealthy!

Kristen Bell is so funny in these commercials. But, it’s so true. My kids get reminded how important sunscreen is. My teenager loves to blow me off about it. I had hoped she learned a valuable lesson. One time when she visited her dad, he didn’t apply it enough, and she ended up with a sunburn hat was so bad she couldn’t wear a shirt and would just cry and cry. I remind her of that bad sunburn when she doesn’t want to put any on.
