It’s summer which means the kids are home and we are busier than ever. I find myself craving time with my husband and yet with the kids home and our schedules busy it’s hard to find the time. The one thing my husband enjoys is spending time in the kitchen. His cooking skills have gotten much better and he’s quite the chef. That’s why we find ourselves spending time making and preparing meals together.
We recently had the chance to try out HelloFresh, a unique meal service that sends you everything you need to make three delicious meals right at home. Right away I liked that the HelloFresh meals were packed full of flavor and quite unique. Many of the dishes are ones I wouldn’t try myself so it was nice to get to explore new flavors.
Our first box arrived with everything for three meals – a Watermelon and Farro Salad with Mozzarella, Cucumber, and Black-Pepper Candied Pecans, there was also a Juicy Lucy Burger with Tomato-Red Onion Jam and Charred Romaine and Garlic Lime Chicken with Avocado Salsa Verde and Spiced Honey-Butter Corn.
The first recipe I wanted to try was the garlic lime chicken. So my husband and I spent some time the kitchen enjoying one anothers company creating this meal.
I really think the honey butter on the corn with the jalapenos made this dish truly fantastic. It’s spicy and fresh and most of all flavorful. I would easily see us making this dish again and again.
I really think the highlight is the roasted corn. The recipes were very easy to make and my husband enjoying making this dish with me. It was a simple way to spend that quality time together and we can do this every night and keep exploring more flavors with HelloFresh.
