My days are busy, from sun up to sun down there’s something that has to be done. With the kids out of school and summer in full swing it’s even harder for me to find moments during the day to just breathe. Some days it feels endless, endless messes, endless laundry and dishes and over time you find yourself more and more unhappy.

The key to being a fun and strong mom is also being a happy mom. Showing my daughters happiness and resilience so that they too can learn and grow in to happy, healthy adults.  Over time there’s some things I’ve learned and taking care of yourself is the best way to stay happy and be able to do it all for your family.

3 Simple Tips For Guilt Free Me-Time

  1. Keep It Simple – Whether it’s writing in a journal and enjoying a cup of coffee find those simple moments between the chaos for a moment for yourself. Allow yourself to recharge and connect with whatever it is that’s happening in your life. Indulge in things you might enjoy like your favorite dessert.
  2. Find A Hobby – Some people enjoy exercising, it’s quite a freeing time that’s really rewarding. Find something you really enjoy doing by yourself and start a few times a week.
  3. It Takes A Village – Grow a network of friends and neighbors. Allow your children time to play and sneak in those few moments for yourself. You might be able to get in a date night or two this summer with your husband!

I take my “me” moments whenever they are available. Often times that means telling the hubby I need a few minutes, and I leave him in charge of the kids while I lock myself into the hot tub with a good book and something yummy to eat. So I can recharge.
