Our summer days are filled with fun adventures. Plenty of time outdoors in the sunshine playing. It’s one of the reasons why we love living in southern California and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Long days of play may be fun but when it comes down to dinner after a long day I don’t want to have to overthink it. I want to spend more moments with our children and less time worrying about dinner.
Hamburger Helper® is a great start to dinner. Our entire family like Hamburger Helper® Lasagna so I try to find ways to keep it fresh for summer. Adding fresh vegetables is the best way to refuel after a long day.
Hamburger Helper® Lasagna Lettuce Wraps
Our lettuce wraps contained the Hamburger Helper® Lasagna. One thing our girls like to do is help in the kitchen. Stirring and help prep the vegetables. We wanted to soften some squash and asparagus so we cooked those in 2 TBSP of olive oil.
After making the Hamburger Helper® Lasagna as directed we added the ground beef to finish cooking.
After the Hamburger Helper® Lasagna came together we served in butter lettuce pieces and topped it with the sauteed vegetables and a little Parmesan cheese.
So this summer when you’re planning out meals for the week. Allow for the unexpected and fun, make it fresh too and allow the kids to be involved. It’s one of the best ways to make memories with your children and an excellent way to end a busy day of play.
What are your favorite fresh summer meals that are fast?
