It’s now officially summer and there’s no better way to kick off summer than spending time with your family and friends. Hot days, cool water, plenty of time to play; this is summer. When it comes time for dinner, the one thing our family will agree on is that grilling is a must!
A summer BBQ is easy to put together. Summer BBQ’s are even better if you’re serving family and friends and you don’t have to overthink it! One thing you’ll always find in our house are Hebrew National All-Beef Franks. Made from premium cuts of beef from the front half of the cow, I know with Hebrew National I’m getting the best of the best. It’s why we serve Hebrew National at all of our summer BBQ’s.
For our big summer kickoff I really wanted to let the kids have fun. Making your own hot dog bar is incredibly easy. Just provide plenty of delicious toppings for each hot dog so everyone can make their own unique dog jut the way they like it! The combination of franks and these toppings may not be Kosher.
I really like to keep things simple and fun so making it a hot dog bar was fun for everyone.
Just top with your favorites; as you can see one of our favorites during summer is a chili dog! While adding my own chili on top makes it not Kosher, I can still feel good knowing the hot dogs our family is eating are the very best. I’ll never have to worry about what’s inside a Hebrew National All-Beef Frank.
I really like the small red baskets that I found at a local big box store. You can just line with parchment paper and not worry about making a mess with your hot dog. The kids also really think the baskets are fun and they keep the summer BBQ unique and fun. The combination of these toppings on the hot dog are not Kosher.
We also served salad with plenty of toppings and dressing. Cutting fruit in the shapes of summer flowers really make the fruit station stand out. Keeping it simple with sides like fruit and salad also help refuel our bodies after a long day of play. It’s important to me that my children get plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables so making their own salad is another fun way to keep them having fun all summer long.
Keeping it simple and fun is what it’s all about and you don’t have to overthink your summer celebrations. We think of Hebrew National as one of our official foods of summer, so keeping hot dogs around is another easy way to keep our family having fun all summer long!
What makes a Hebrew National kosher hot dog premium? It’s all about what makes the cut (And what doesn’t). We’re choosy about what goes into our franks – we use only premium cuts of 100% kosher beef from the front half of the cow and then choose the best from that. No artificial flavors, colors, fillers or by-products. When your hot dog is Kosher, that’s a hot dog you can trust! For more summer fun with Hebrew National, visit facebook.com/hebrewnational.

We grill all the time, and these are our favorite hot dogs. Always excellent, and I feel good about serving them.
This is awesome and so simple. I love BBQ’s – big or small, always a fun event!
A summer BBQ sounds like a great idea. I am having one on the 4th. My tip is to keep it simple and easy.
We have simple cookouts like this practically every weekend during the summer. Between the food and the pool everyone has a great time!
I like the idea of having all kinds of toppings to put on the dogs! That makes them SO much fun, and Hebrew dogs are really good!
The 4th of July wouldn’t be the same without a backyard barbecue! And hot dogs are mandatory at our house if we’re having a summer barbecue party!
My favorite tip is to keep a garbage bag handy outdoors so everyone can throw their trash in it, instead of on the ground!
I totally love the hot dog bar idea! My first backyard bbq will be on the holiday weekend, and I am going to set it up this way! Thanks for the ideas!
We just had Hebrew national hot dogs today for lunch ..on the grill of course.
