I have three kids and I love taking videos of them. And for a long time, I just kept all of my videos on my smartphone. Sure, they were backed up to “The Cloud,” but that didn’t help me organize them in any good way. And of course, after a while, I would have to take all the videos off of my smartphone because I’d run out of storage space. So then my videos would just hang out on a hard drive that I never looked at. And really, what’s the point in creating all of these precious video memories if they’re so hard to find that we never enjoy watching them? So, I started wondering if there was a way I could store my videos in a place where I could easily access them whenever I wanted, from either my computer or my phone, and have them easily organized in some logical way.

4

Well, I found the perfect place to do this! It’s a site called VIBLIO. It’s super easy to upload my videos through any web browser or their iOS companion app. And once I’ve uploaded my videos to my VIBLIO cloud account, I can delete them from my phone. VILBIO keeps a high (full) resolution back up of my videos, and will send me a copy of them if I ask for it. (They do charge a small fee to send me the backup of all of my uploaded videos to cover the cost of the flash drive.)

So far, it sounds like a lot of other cloud storage services. But here are 3 things about VIBLIO that I love and that make it stand apart from the others:

  1. VIBLIO makes photos right from my uploaded videos.

6

This is an awesome bonus. For every video you upload, VIBLIO creates a bunch of still photos that you can download and keep. They are created instantly. You just click on the “photos” button, and they appear!  I can even select a bunch of photos in VIBLIO and have them automatically post directly to my Facebook timeline as a photo album.

  1. VIBLIO has great search features.

3

VIBLIO lets me look for my videos by the people in them, by places, by dates, by labels that I create, and more. This is really great when you are constantly taking videos of three different kids and all of their different activities.

  1. It’s easy to create shared video albums.

2

VIBLIO comes with a set of default albums, like Family, Friend and Holiday Albums. In my browser, I can easily upload my latest videos directly into an existing album and the people I have shared that album with automatically get access to my new videos. I don’t have to send them separate emails or do anything other than upload my videos. If I want certain people to have access to only certain albums, I can control that too (unlike Facebook where everyone tends to see everything that is posted, most of the time).

Currently, I get 15 GB of storage and unlimited sharing as a free VIBLIO user. Do yourself a favor and sign up for VIBLIO, so you can store, organize and even share all of your awesome holiday video memories with your family and friends. Try it here, it’s free!

Thanks for sharing this find with us!! I’ve passed it along to my sister-in-law who has taken so many videos over the years. She was just mentioning the need to organize them. I think this will be a great solution for her!!

I’m a dad of two and this seems like a great idea. I’ve been looking for a way to manage videos like I used to manage my photos in Picasa.

I love how easy and fast it is to upload videos to Viblio and to share them with others. Getting still photos from the videos is also fabulous as I find I take many fewer photos than I used to. Since virtually all my videos have the kids in them, I am thankful that Viblio maintains the privacy of the videos, and I don’t have to worry that I accidentally used the wrong setting!

Viblio is simply awesome. I’m not a fan of putting my videos in the cloud, but I’ve been following Viblio and they realize that families care about privacy. Check it out: . It’s about time someone did!

Love Viblio and the fact that there is an awesome video solution that actually cares about privacy and security. With young kids in mind – that is definitely a priority for me.

I’m already a viblio user and love the site. The coolest feature is that it gives me photos that it pulls from the videos I upload. Photos from videos. Great idea!

Love this site! Viblio is so awesome. I use it all the time to share my videos with family and friends. On Facebook I can never understand the privacy settings. I honestly don’t have to worry about that with Viblio. It’s all just kept private.
