The opinions and text are all mine. The holidays are right around the corner and this year we want to inspire other families to take a greener approach to gift wrapping by reusing those old milk containers. For us we have a lot of Silk® around and with the holidays coming there’s nothing better than a warm cup of Silk Almond Milk +Protein Chocolate to warm you up on a cool day or the seasonal favorite like Nog Soymilk. Don’t throw away those containers though because we have the perfect green gift wrapping solution.
Recycled Milk Carton Gift Boxes
What You Need –
- Silk® Containers
- White Paper
- Hot Glue & Glue Gun
- Ribbon
- Burlap large ribbon
- scissors
First you will want to clean out and dry your containers for use. Then cut the container in half. For a secure hold we used hot glue for this project. You could use any glue you had including white school glue. Once you have cut the container in half wrap it in white paper.
Fold the paper and glue along the side along the top of the milk container.
Then wrap and glue the burlap around the outside of the container all the way around.
We made snowflakes using one of my crafting machines but you could easily decorate this with stickers or even a simple gift tag. A line of glue will attach ribbon along the upper corner of the container.
I also tied a ribbon and used hot glue to attach it to the top of the container. It’s a simple and easy way to wrap a gift and my girls can’t wait to give their teachers their gifts in the gift boxes they make!
