Our kids are heading back to school and it’s still hot here in California. We’ve teamed up with Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream to give our kiddos a fun reason to smile after school. It’s still very hot and our kiddos so spend time outside at school throughout the day. Sending water bottles and healthy snacks are a must on school days but after school I often want to give them a fun reason to smile.
There’s nothing that will make you smile more than a delightful cup of ice cream on a very hot day.
There’s so many fun and creative ice cream treat ideas on Dreyers.com and their new Pinterest page! Plus with summer time flavors and new limited edition ice cream flavors for summer it’s so easy to create something truly unique.
To have some after school fun with our girls we wanted to make ice cream push pops with the German Chocolate Cake Ice Cream. There’s real cake pieces and swirl of caramel with a slight hint on coconut. It’s such a wonderful way to end a day and a delicious treat!
We started with some basic plastic push pops and a layer of Dreyer’s ice cream. Added some whipped cream frosting and another layer of ice cream. Topped with gourmet chocolate and frozen for another half an hour to hour.
With summers heat still high in the sky here in California ice cream is always a hit after school. Dreyer’s makes it easy to create memories together and give us many more reasons to smile together.
It’s fun to get outside and play and have fun and ice cream is just another way we make memories on warm summer days. Even as we head into fall it’s those moments we spend together that mean the most.

I don’t just like ice cream, I LOVE ice cream. And I do think that Dreyers has some of the best. Those look absolutely delicious and I love the parfait glasses. I would like to find some just like them for myself.
Ice cream always puts a smile on our faces too. I’m a fan of slow-churned for less fat.
Mmm, yum! Those push pops look totally drool worthy! How fun to make them with the kids!
Who doesn’t love push pops- but push pops with Dreyer’s? That sounds amazing I am about to go to my freezer and grab a scoop right now- the hardest part is always picking just one flavor!
German Chocolate Cake ice cream…..well, hello!!
Yum! That sounds great. We love Dreyers (well, Eddy’s around here) and we almost always have it at our house. Actually, I think I’m going to go get some now for a late night snack. 🙂
I’ve never had Dreyer’s before. I think it’s time to change that. It looks really creamy.
I don’t need an excuse to have ice cream! And Dreyer’s has always been one of our favorite brands!
Looks great! We do not have this brand down here in Florida. Looks like the kids loved it!
For some reason, I never knew that I could make my own push pops. WOW — totally want to do this. It’s like a handheld parfait!
Ooooo…my mouth is watering now. I love ice cream and I know some kids that would love this snack. Wonderful idea…will have to do that with them. thank you for sharing. 🙂
We are BIG ice cream fans in our house. We all like different flavors, though, so we have lots in our freezer.
