It’s summer which means we are busier than ever. If you are a mom who is on the go and staying healthy and fit all summer is important. I know I want to look and feel my best this summer so I’m using healthy snacks as a way to keep my health and fitness goals. This summer we have already done a lot of hiking and it’s one of the things I enjoy best about summer. Even hiking with sleepy little ones…..

One brand we use a lot in our house is Silk Almond and Coconut Milk and their latest Silk Almond Protein + Fiber is a great way to get added protein. Which we need to stay full and have enough energy to hike around national parks or run after our toddlers at the beach and water park all day.

If I have time in the morning I like to mix it up and start the day with a healthy smoothie that’s packed full of good nutrients to start my day. If you’re doing any running this summer like I am you will want to get in a healthy and filling snack and a smoothie is a great way to go.

One of the best thing about smoothies is that you can fix and match with whatever you may have in your fridge. Cherries are finally in season so there’s plenty of extra cherries to go around during the summer months and they are a great way to sweeten up a smoothie! I also like to add in carrots and blend it really well.

These smoothies are also great for the kiddos and mine enjoy them too. Using Silk Almond Protein + Fiber instead of milk is a great way to get in extra protein and fiber but also is more delicious than dairy milk!

It’s a simple and fun way to start the day and makes a great snack for a busy mom.
