This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of MetLife Foundation. All opinions are 100% mine.
We all love that motherly figure in our lives. Whether its mom, grandma, an aunt, or anyone who has been there like a mom, Mother’s Day is the day to show them they are important for so many reasons.
A “#Moem” is like a poem created especially just for moms.
“Of all the special joys in life, the big ones and the small. Spending today with my Mom, is the greatest of them all. #Moem”
It’s quick and easy. Let the #Moem Maker give you a couple of ideas on how to start and make it easy to share it on Facebook or Twitter and don’t forget to tag mom if she is online. Trust me this is for a higher purpose than just saying something nice to mom.
So you may be wondering, is there any real purpose to this. There is actually. Every #Moem that is composed to honor a Mom for Mother’s Day will not also show that you care but will also raise funds for Mothers in need. These #Moems when submitted through the Moem Maker t will raise $10 per #Moem for a charity called Dress for Success.
Dress for Success is an organization that works to help low-income women with professional attire, create and put them in touch with a network of support and the career development tools to help them become economically independent for them to be able to take care of their families. By helping these women through and on their search for professional employment, the #Moem is doing more for than just one mother. You want to give a real mother’s day gift to all mothers, think of those who need it and who want to be the best mothers they can be.
MetLife will donate $10 for every #Moem posted towards the Dress for Success’s goal of $50,000. #Moems can be submitted after midnight on mother’s day but will not count.
Here’s a #Moem my husband and daughters made for me. Not hard and they had fun doing it!
So tell your friends and family to help me and Dress For Success get socially active online and have some doing while making a long-term change. Make some women’s dreams come true to one day let their kids give those great mother’s day gifts and thoughts that not everyone can provide for their kids. It’s always special for every kid to be able to show their love on this special day.
What do you say? You have the time to write mom and #Moem while helping some underprivileged woman get a leg up? If so post your #Moem on twitter and/or Facebook!
this is a great idea and a great way to give back. i will be writing one tonight or tomorrow and posting it. thanks.
