Pillsbury Funfetti Birthday Handmade Frosted Cakes (2)It’s finally spring which means it’s time to host family and friends in our homes. With three girls I also like to bake up some sweet treats for them to celebrate the season. It’s a fun way to celebrate a busy spring week and baking is something I enjoy doing for my family.

To celebrate spring I used the new BOLD Funfetti Baking products like cake mixes and bold new frosting combinations. I love that with Pillsbury baking is deliciously easy! It’s also easy to allow your kiddos to be involved because their products are so easy and fun!

With spring celebrations and birthday parties I wanted to create a fun springtime recipe that I knew my girls would love. These simple bold spring cakes are sure to please!

Bold Flower Cakes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Funfetti Neon Yellow Cupcake and Cake Mix
  •  Funfetti® Aqua Blue Cupcake and Cake Mix
  • Funfetti Neon Yellow Cupcake and Cake Mix
  •  Funfetti Vibrant Green Cupcake and Cake Mix
  •  Funfetti Orange All Star™ Vanilla Flavored Frosting with Colorful Star Shaped Candy Bits
  •  Funfetti Neon Yellow Vanilla Flavored Frosting with Multi-Colored Candy Bits

Using my cake mixes I prepared them as directed on the packaging. Pillsbury Baking products are incredibly easy to use and the directions are easily printed on back. I found an adorable flower mini cake pan at a local craft store and found hem to be a perfect mold for these brightly colored cakes.

After preparing as directed I allowed them to cool completely to allowffor frosting.

I wanted to create a fun design on the top of the flower so I added my frosting to a piping bag with large flower tip.

Using the yellow I started around the petals and worked my way around. Pillsbury Funfetti Birthday Handmade Frosted Cakes (6)A simple drop of orange in the center and added fondant flower complete the look. Pillsbury Funfetti Birthday Handmade Frosted Cakes (7)I just love how bright and fun these cakes turned out. You could easily find any mold and it’s a fun twist on a traditional cupcake!  Pillsbury Funfetti Birthday Handmade Frosted Cakes (1)Pillsbury Funfetti Birthday Handmade Frosted Cakes (8)
