discover vday

With moving and the holiday season past us, it is finally time that we as a married couple spend some quality quiet time together away from the kids. With both of our older kids in school I finally have the free time to work on what I need to get done so we have extra time to do things for us.

We are finally more settled in and are planning some things to do as parents with no kids.  We like to spend time alone and like to plan out extended trips such as overnight stays or day excursions. However, finding someone to watch 3 kids including a 19 month old is not always easy. That is why when we get the chance to enjoy it, we enjoy it!

We are always looking to save money and use group buying sites, such as Groupon to save money when making plans. Whether it’s for a movie, restaurant, or resort stay we always look for ways to save or get some kind of reward. There is always money to be saved by being a savvy shopper.

Not only can you shop for deals, but we also let our credit card make money for us. Through the end of March, Discover is now offering Discover cardmembers the ability to earn5% Cashback Bonus on up to $1,500 in purchases at restaurants and movie theaters. Besides receiving Cashback Bonus, there is also the option to use the rewards for partner gift cards from several restaurants and movie theaters such as AMC Theaters, Outback Steakhouse and Red Lobster.

Also right now there is an extra incentive for Discover cardmembers who shop online and are looking to earn more Cashback Bonus. ShopDiscover, the exclusive online shopping portal for Discover cardmembers, offers Cashback Bonus at more than 200 popular online retailers, including:

  • Restaurant.com – 25% Cashback Bonus now through Feb. 14, usually 20% Cashback Bonus
  • Fandango – 10% Cashback Bonus
  • Living Social –5% Cashback Bonus
  • Groupon – 5% Cashback Bonus

Be sure to look at group buying sites like Groupon and Living Social for different dinner deals and packages. Check out ShopDiscover.com and visit the Groupon or Living Social tab and “Start Shopping” to earn Cashback Bonus on your Discover card.
