Three years ago I had just had my second child and after going through a lot in my personal life I finally decided that enough was enough. After a year of inactivity I decided I would start running, and I did. It was slow at first and after some time and a lot of hard work I lost 60 pounds!
I’ve written a lot about my weight loss and how my journey has help mold who I am now but I’ve realized now more than ever how tough and empowering it has been. Knowing that with every step and every breath I can and will live a healthier lifestyle. Knowing that I can shape my body and help heal my mind and heart. When life gets toughest I turn to exercise.
Some of the women who inspire my most are women in fitness. My friend Sarah is a marathon runner who is not only incredibly beautiful, graceful and kind but she’s also powerful and strong. She’s the fastest runner I know and helps encourage me. It’s women like Sarah who inspire me to keep pushing forward and reaching my goals.

My grandmother who is 100 years old is my role model. She is strong, she loves her entire family, she is spiritual and a positive thinker, she also bakes the best sweet potatoe pie.
My grandmother’s my role model. She’s a strong women, who takes whatever life throws at her with a sense of humor. It’s great to see that so many of us consider loved ones our role models!
My mom inspired me! She was such a hard worker, yet always found time for her family and was so kind. I’ve always tried to be half the woman she was!
The one woman that inspires me the most would be my sister. She has taken our mom in to live with her and her family. She has taken on a big chunk of being the primary caregiver for mom. she has a great attitude and doesn’t let anything get her down.
