PEEPS® Gingerbread Tree Cookies

PEEPS®It’s holiday baking season which means there’s so many things to create! This year PEEPS® wants to inspire your Peepsonality and see what you’re creating. This year I decided to express my Peepsonality with a delicious gingerbread cookie recipe and I topped each cookie with an adorable PEEPS® Christmas treat.

Super Soft Gingerbread Cookie Recipe

Ingredients: 

  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 TBSP water
  • 8 TBSP of butter
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 TSP of baking soda
  • 1/2 TSP of ground allspice
  • 1 TSP of ground ginger
  • 1 TSP of chili powder
  • 1/2 TSP ground cinnamon

Directions: 

  1. Mix together your molasses and brown sugar. Add your softened butter and the water and mix together until it is smooth.
  2. Mix together all of your dry ingredients in a bowl and add them to your wet ingredients.
  3. Once your dough has come together put it inside saran wrap and cool it in the refrigerator for over an hour.
  4. Place dough on floured surface and roll it out. Cutting your appropriate shapes.
  5. Preheat oven – 375 degrees
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Allow cookies to cool and top with chocolate frosting and your favorite PEEPS®

Makes 2 dozen cookies.

    Oh these are so cute!!! I have not made a gingerbread man before at home, but will have to try these! I know Carter would love it and have to much fun helping!

    This is a fun idea! It’s like a holiday twist on s’mores. I haven’t seen these Peeps, maybe I haven’t been looking hard enough.

    These look delicious! I think I’m going to ‘borrow’ your recipe and make a batch or 2 of my own but I was thinking about substituting Nutella for the chocolate frosting before adding the peeps.

    I love this! What a great idea! I really like how your gingerbread recipe doesn’t use to much ginger and uses some cinnamon. Can’t wait to try this. Plus who doesn’t love Peeps!

    I’m going to try your recipe for gingerbread cookies! This is my favorite to make each year, but yours look more “fluffy” than mine, so I’ll give your recipe a try!
