The Motorola® MBP26 Digital Wireless 1.8-Inch Video Baby Monitor is an awesome little video & audio baby monitor that is super functional and simple to use.
This is a great around the home model because of its many functions like 2-way communication, a digital pan and tilt moveable viewing area, 2.4 GHz wireless technology for a clear signal, and infrared night vision.
This sleek little hand held unit allows connection of up to 4 cameras so if you want to monitor more than just one area and not move your camera around (extra cameras sold separately.)
The camera base can be tilted and swiveled for that right angle along with wall mounting holes. We are currently using ours for monitoring the baby crib but the camera mount works great at just being set flat on a surface.
What makes this camera great is its ability to digitally pan and tilt to view a bigger area. While monitoring on the handheld display, you can actually move the view around, which is great so we can see the entire crib or if viewing an area, the panning makes it easy to view the whole room. The benefit to this does not have to sacrifice distance and view.
In a traditional camera, you have to just be zoomed out to view the entire area which then leaves out the smaller details. And for nighttime the cameras built in infrared night vision allows us to see even when it’s dark. There is also a built in light meter that displays noise in a light scale.
The handheld unit has a nice 2.4 inch color display and there is a microphone option to talk back to the camera which is great for when the kids are bothering the baby or when we use it for keeping an eye on what’s going on upstairs. The 2 way communication makes it nice so I can see what’s going on and correct bad behaviors without all the running, saving me time and energy.
We were provided with a review unit.
