Now that Brooklin is starting to learn to read we are enjoying so many fun new books. I was thrilled when we were sent a copy of Charlie the Ranch Dog: Where’s the Bacon? which is written by one of my favorite bloggers and fellow mom – Ree Drummond.

My kiddos already love Charlie the Ranch Dog from the humorous picture books by Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman. Now hard-working, bacon-loving basset hound Charlie is starring in a series of illustrated books for beginning readers. Brooklin just can’t get enough of Charlie! Where’s the Bacon? is a Level One I Can Read book, which means it is perfect for children learning to sound out words and sentences.

In Charlie the Ranch Dog: Where’s the Bacon?, a new dog comes to visit. Things get off to a bad start. Rowdy doesn’t understand Charlie is the boss of the ranch. He sleeps in Charlie’s bed, drinks Charlie’s water, and worst of all, he eats Charlie’s bacon. Charlie has to get Rowdy under control. And he really needs to find more bacon! Your kiddos will fall in love with the store and leave mom and dad wanting bacon, at least it did for us!

You can find the book published by Harper Collins now on store shelves!

I love The Pioneer Woman. I think she is a fantastic cook but I did not know she had written a book. I love Charlie and I am sure my granddaugther would like to read the book.
