Family Travel With Kids Keeping Busy Our Family Journal Uncategorized

We spent this past week out in the woods camping. One of our favorite spots miles from any 3 and forget 4G service. We slept in a tent right next to where a creek runs into a river. There’s a lake a few miles up the road and there’s a lot of hiking and nature to see. Living in Oregon the forest here is so lush and green, there’s moss that grows on almost everything and large ferns with their leaves heavy from endless rain. It’s a beautiful place to spend time with your family.

There was plenty of fun to be had as we spent our days rafting down the river and playing in the creek. The sun was so hot during the day that the only place to be was in the water.

Playing with the raft had to have been the funnest part. Both hubby and I took the girls down the rapids. It’s a very calm river compared to some you see in Oregon but there are some shallow and some very deep areas.

We spent our nights around the campfire. I enjoy cooking simple so we had plenty of wonderful meals cooked on an open fire. The girls all played and we even went into town and picked up a few things so we could stay an extra few days.

Even the dog enjoyed himself.

We hiked around to get supplies……

So that we could build a fort.

We really had a great time in the great outdoors as a family!

Does your family go camping? What are your summer traditions?

I wish I could go camping but I really just cannot sleep in a tent. We have tried everything and I always just freeze. You guys look like you had a lot of fun.

That’s some great pictures and great times I am sure. I love camping and the outdoors. It’s so relaxing to get away from the city. Looks like you had a blast!

Some of my favorite childhood memories were of when we would go camping – it’s such an adventure to get out there and explore nature – especially when you’re little! Love seeing the pics of your little ones out there – they’ll remember these fun times forever!

It looks like you had a ton of fun. We love to go camping also. We went camping outside of Maupin and also went white water rafting a few weeks ago. It was a blast.
