Easy Tips For Saving Your Herbs From The Chew #TheChew

Fun Foods for Families Uncategorized

Celebrating and exploring life is kind of the theme for this year of my life. Food is one of those blissful things in my life that truly brings me joy. I believe that food should be simple and natural and that’s partly why I have planted my own garden. With a full garden full of herbs I never know quite what to do with all the extra I have so I was so happy to catch an episode of The Chew where Carla shares her tips for saving and reusing your fresh herbs.

If you’ve ever watched The Chew you’ll know how creative and fun the show is. I really enjoy getting fun recipes and even cooking tips from some of my favorite chefs. You can also tune into The Chew, weekdays 1e & 12p/c on ABC.

This week I wanted to try to save the fresh herbs from my garden so I followed Carla’s easy directions. You can watch the entire clip below:

I started off first freezing some fresh herbs. I made olive oil and herb ice cubes and then also set some aside to put in a bag for freezing. One of the herbs I always have more than enough of is basil and rosemary and it’s such an easy way to use and preserve my fresh herbs.

Since I followed Carla’s directions it says to slowly dry out your fresh herbs in the oven. I really love the idea of drying them out since in the fall I use a lot of recipes that use dry herbs. It’s always nice to have them on hand and even better that I was able to make them all myself!

Creating my own herb and oil ice cubes and my own dried herb blends is just another one of those helpful kitchen tips that I have learned from The Chew.  All summer-long, ABC’s The Chew is your one-stop shop for everything food. From grilling and outdoor entertaining to road trips and picnics, The Chew is dishing out the most sizzling, mouth-watering meals to satisfy your summer cravings! No one serves up summer quite like The Chew!

Just check out this latest summer episode:

The Chew celebrates and explores life through food – from cooking to food trends, restaurants, holidays and more all aimed at making life better, fuller and more fun. Featuring celebrity chefs Mario Batali, Michael Symon, and Carla Hall, lifestyle expert Clinton Kelly and fresh face of healthy living Daphne Oz, “The Chew” is a leap forward into a delicious new kind of talk show.

Watch The Chew Weekdays at 1e|12p|c on ABC!
