Teachers Change Lives – Adopt A Classroom #TeachersChangeLives

I want to introduce you to one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever met. She helped raise me and she’s been a teacher since I started school long ago. Growing up she was always planning fun activities for us and she always went above and beyond for her students. Great teachers need support though, as the years have passed she’s started buying more of her own supplies to supplement the activities she wants to do with her students. I hear this same thing from teachers everywhere!

 Did you know?

  • $1,000: Out-of-pocket amount spent by the average teacher each year on essential classroom supplies
  • 92%: Percentage of teachers who report spending their own money on classroom supplies
  • $1.3 billion: Total out-of-pocket amount spent nationally by teachers on classroom supplies each year

The truth is great teachers change lives. I can remember 5 teachers off the top of my head who greatly impacted my life for the better. Can you think of any teachers too? I bet you can and that’s why Office Depot recognizes the contributions teachers make every day to support students.

Every day Office Depot is committed to  helping and they’ve partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to create real change and help serve teachers better. Right now you can register your classroom with AdoptAClassroom.org to participate in the REAL Change Project and be eligible for funding from donors nationwide.  Did you know that 100% of AdoptAClassroom.org donations goes directly to teachers, so they don’t have to spend their own money on supplies. Which means they can be even better at their jobs and spend more time helping our children enjoy learning. It’s that real change and real impact that creates and helps foster even better teachers for our students.

After you have registered a classroom you can access tools here to help promote your involvement and tell others about your classroom’s needs. Helping teachers and students achieve their goals is one of the most reqarding things I can do as a parent because I know that just like I have been positively impacted by teachers so will my children.

What are some ways you can help great teachers in your life?

Register or donate to a classroom today.
