Having grown up with my Grandmother being diabetic and having other family members with diabetes I got to know Werther’s Sugar Free Candy from an early age, and my first memories of caramel come from those times with her. In fact, each time I try one I’m taken back to that first time. It’s the classic candy that so many of us grew up with and now that I’ve gotten older I still enjoy them.

I found out I had diabetes while I was pregnant, I love sweets so it was very difficult to completely change everything about the way I was eating. When you have diabetes your whole life is about what you can and can’t eat, when you have or haven’t eaten, and mostly what you can’t have. It’s nice to actually be able to have something that is only 8 calories each.

Which means that it easily fits into any diabetic diet and you get 5 pieces per serving although you don’t need that many pieces with the delicious flavor. I found that if I have one it lasts a long time and it feels like I’m having so much more than just a piece of hard candy. It’s creamy and smooth and delicious caramel and you don’t have to feel bad or worry about having them around.

When I think back to all the sweet moments I had with my Grandmother and remember all the times she gave me a Werther’s Original Sugar Free Candy I remember little bits of happy. During church, or while shopping, before going to the pool on a warm summer day and settling into bed at night I will always hav happy memories when I think of her and when I think of Werther’s.

Discover all of the delicious sugar free candies at Werther’s. Also connect with Werther’s on Facebook. I found a $1.00 coupon on their Facebook page and a guess how many pieces of candy game. A fun way to get a coupon!

These are so good. My grandpa used to always have some of these (the regular ones) in his pocket. My kids also love them.

My mother in law popped these in every second I was around her! She absolutely loved them. I was never too crazy about them.
