Velveeta Dinner Kits & Italian Crusty Bread Recipe

crusty iltalian bread

Some nights I don’t want to think a lot about dinner a quick and easy meal is just what I need. That doesn’t mean I can’t give my family fresh elements to our meal and knowing that fresh can also be easy and fun. One of my favorite things to add to any meals is fresh bread, especially when it comes to Italian food.

We went out and bought one of the new Velveeta Dinner Kits and my girls picked the Lasagna. Made with real cheese and natural flavors all I had to do was add in the beef. Need an easy weeknight meal idea pick up a Velveeta Casserole Dinner Kit where you can easily bake Chili Cornbread, Chicken Pot Pie, and Shepherd’s Pie easily right in your oven.

To go along with our Lasagna casserole I wanted to make a crusty bread. I prepped the bread in the morning so it would be ready by dinner time. This bread recipe is literally the easiest bread recipe you will ever try. You can customize it so many different ways and it’s really simple and easy for anyone to do. You’ll need a dutch oven oven for this bread recipe though.

You’ll want to combine your ingredients and add 1 and 1/2 cups of water.

At this time I added in 2 tsp of my favorite Italian seasonings and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. DO NOT REFRIGERATE!!

To cook your bread you’ll want to preheat your oven to 450 degrees with your dutch oven inside. You’ll want your dutch oven to at least be in there for 30 minutes.

While your oven is heating unwrap your dough and roll it into a ball allowing it to sit out exposed to the oxygen.

Then put the lid on and bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.

30 minutes later when you oven your ditch oven there is this perfectly cooked loaf of bread. I promise you’ll love this basic recipe. You can add so many things and make sweeter versions or more savory ones. It’s a great compliment to any Italian style meal and it didn’t take me any time at all!

We have tried the Velveeta Skillet dinners and they are great and quick when you don’t have enough time to cook a full course meal. The Zesty BBQ Chicken is one of our favorite Cheesy Velveeta Skillet Dinners.

I love this recipe for Italian bread. I don’t have a Dutch oven, I’ve seem them here and there even just for bread. I would love to make this! I wonder what would happen w/o the Dutch oven, the crust wouldn’t be the same…
