Savory Green Beans and Ham Recipe

My husband and I decided we wanted ham so we just happened inside a Honey Baked Ham store. Okay so in all honesty, we drove there exactly for the store. You know, to buy an ham. I really do like ham but it’s one of those things I only have a few times a year so I savor it when I do. There’s just nothing like a sweet nice ham. Right?

I always say I like simple recipes and that’s because I really do.

My 3 and a half year old helped by breaking up all of the fresh green beans. Letting her cook and be involved in the kitchen is something she really enjoys so I try to find easy way to engage her.

We added 3 cups of organic vegetable stock to the pot and 2 cups of chopped ham. In total there were 4 or 5 cups of green beans. Let’s just say we’ll have them for leftover tomorrow.

I just let them cook on a low heat in my copper pot for a few hours. The house smells amazing and it’s another easy way to enjoy ham (or bacon) with your greens.

If you’ll be cooking for others this St. Patrick’s Day check out the awesome green Solo Cup plates. Don’t forget about the green Solo Cups too!
