Our Best And Worst Anniversary Gifts Ever Received

In the few years we’ve been married my husband has managed to do quite a few special things for me. Just two years ago I received the biggest anniversary surprise during a weekend getaway to Seattle. We had planned on just going and finding a place for dinner so we got all dressed up and checked into a nice Seattle hotel without the kids. I got all dressed up and and so did my husband.

We decided to take a cab to find somewhere to eat, or so I thought my husband motioned for me to get into the cab so I followed him. I didn’t even see that we had pulled up in front of the Space Needle, I was busy tweeting about being all dressed up and alone without kids. When the cab stopped my husband grabbed my hand for me to follow him out of the cab.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t thinking too much about where we were going but it turns out he had big plans for us.

I looked up and saw the Space Needle and my thought was that we would head up there to just take pictures and look at the view. When we got to the ticket counter my husband turned to me and said that we were having dinner. The smile on my face said it all, he had totally surprised me with a gorgeous meal. It was a rare clear winter day in Seattle and we sat above the city having dinner. He topped it off with a beautiful right hand diamond ring!!

Our anniversaries have not always been this special, as a young family often bills came before nice fancy weekend getaways. I can’t say they were the worst anniversary gifts but the years where we didn’t give gifts have made me appreciate the years that we have.

It reminds of of the hilarious new comedy about marriage called Hope Springs. An older married couple trying to get the spark back and of course hilarity ensues. I have many more stories about our marriage to share in the coming weeks as I celebrate the release of the new movie. Be sure to follow Sony Hope Springs on Facebook for more information about the movie.

What is the best and worst gifts you’ve ever received?
