My husband really wanted me to try some sort of yogurt bread so I thought what better way than to make it fresh and taste like summer with some orange. I served our Orange Yogurt Bread with the quiche for a delightful and fresh meal.

Orange Yogurt Bread Recipe

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
GLAZE:
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 teaspoons orange juice

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add yogurt, orange juice and peel.

Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to the mixture. Pour into a greased loaf pan.

You’ll want to tent the loaf pan with tin foil and this bread easily becomes brown. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. You’ll add the glaze over the cooled bread. The glaze is so easy, you could even add some extra orange peel to make it truly unique! Cut and serve!
