Made in McMinnville, OR, Mission Organics Tortilla Chips are USDA certified organic and made with only five basic ingredients:organic corn masa flour(s), water, organic sunflower oil, sea salt and a hint of lime. Not only are they made locally to me but they’re also the newest addition to Mission’s line of chips. Personally I love that they are organic and come in flavors my whole family will love.

In the spirit of keeping Portland weird I decided to go sweet and savory with this dessert idea.

I used a simple vanilla chip ice cream and chopped up some locally grown organic strawberries. My garden is just starting to produce strawberries so this would be even better with my own garden strawberries. The sweet and salty touch of the blue corn tortilla chips just add extra texture. I promise you if you just try it you’d actually enjoy it. It;s different but in a good way!

Thanks to Mission for sending our family the new organic chips to try.

love the salty and sweet thing and it looks so pretty! may have to do this on July 4th since it fits in with the color theme and will help cool us off on a hot southern summer day!

Would never think of pairing tortilla chips with ice cream and strawberry’s but it does look good, I would be willing to give it a try

I know that the mix of sweet and salty is often the BEST combination. I am not a salty snacker but I know my daughter would love to try. I think with a low fat ice cream and just a few chips it might be a really healthy snack!
