pregnant mia 36 weeks belly view from above

This morning I had my doctors appointment. Typical end of pregnancy stuff, perfect blood pressure and baby heartbeat. Then it got to that uncomfortable moment when you get checked. Typical stuff really but I was really looking forward to finding out where I am so I know where I’m going. My biggest worry has been Mia’s size. I gave birth to a 10 pound baby once who was two weeks past her due date and I refuse to do it again. She’s perfect, still a tiny peanut with a few more weeks left to grow.

I am currently almost 1cm dilated and the cervix is opening.  My doctor gave me a few pointers on how to make baby come naturally. In fact he said there are two things you can do, the rest are old wives tales. During my last pregnancy I tried it all and it seemed like the more I tried the later she came.

Things You Can Do To Naturally Induce Labor:

  • walking
  • sex
  • more specifically you need the semen so don’t let your husband get lazy on you

I’m sure there are so many other things you can do including eating pineapple, spicy foods, castor oil (which I suggest you not do. I did it and regret ever trying)

What are some things that you did to naturally induce labor? Were your children late or early?

Six kids, two VERY late…one 12 days and one almost 3 weeks (and no dates wrong either). The other four came almost on due date or just a couple days off.

With my first it was a lot of seafood that got me started. A night out to celebrate our last free time, at a local restaurant. I know you are not supposed to eat a lot of it now adays but it worked for me. The others? Walking. And the threat of an induction with two of them had me start ON the induction day just a few hours before I was to go in. One was really stubborn because he was transverse and no pressure on the cervix…and my only c section. I am over 50 and got to witness the birth of my grand daughter last fall. It is so wonderful to follow all of you young mommies getting ready for your new angels. Hope the next few weeks go fast, but enjoy it!

Well hello feet lol, nice pic. I had 2 late and 2 early. I don’t have any tricks for you, sorry, I never tried anything.

I did everything… nothing works unless your body is ready.

For me, it was too much fluid so the contractions did nothing to get my cervix to dilate… not until my water broke on it’s own

My first was on time and the second took his sweet old time. Funny … he has a pretty laid back character, too. 🙂 I remeber looking over my belly at my toes. Enjoy.

I inserted evening primrose oil with my first. Which reminds me, I need to go buy some!
