Marvel’s The Avengers – Super Heroes In Theaters May 4th

marvel The Avenger red logoSo Kristin and I had the chance to catch a 3D advanced screening of Marvel’s The Avengers. It will be in theaters for all to see on May 4th.

marvel ticket admit oneThe Avengers picked a great cast and to be honest this is the best action/super hero movie I have ever seen. The special effects are perfectly amazing. I am a huge fan of special effects, but I get a little disappointed when I can visually tell when the effects are generated which can be seen by the rendering or speed of the special effect, and The Avengers had none. The 3D effect was not over whelming and helped to make the whole flick just come to life. This 3D film is projected on the big screen by a Sony 4K Digital projector which makes the film ever more awesome. The picture was so clear that it was like watching the film in real life, but it was on a huge screen. With the superb FX, extremely clear picture, and 3D, and a great storyline, to us The Avengers is a must see.

Movie Stars in Marvel Avengers

Like I said, I am a action and super heroes movie fan. Kristin on the other hand, enjoys them, but even she agreed this was an awesome movie. She especially liked the Iron Man movies, so she enjoyed see Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man. Iron man was back as a successful entrepreneur who has everything going for him and does a lot to help The Avengers stop Loki (Tom Hiddleston) from using an alien power cube called the tesseract to open a portal from deep space allowing his hoards of minions to help Loki take over the Earth. Loki possesses Clint Barton / Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) for muscle and Selvig (Stellan Skarsgrd) for the brains to build the reactor needed to open the other dimensional portal.

But Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) of S.H.I.E.L.D along with spy Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) unite The Avengers to save planet Earth. The begin assembling the team by getting Steve Rogers aka Captain America (Chris Evans) who had been frozen for some decades and Bruce Banner / The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) who was living in India stress-free of course. Thor comes into the picture to save Loki from S.H.I.E.L.D. but then comes to find out that Loki has other intentions to destroy humans, and Thor is more a champion for humans, a positive example of a Godly figure. Together The Avengers join forces to save planet earth and the Human race from enslavement.

What I really liked about this movie was the storyline. From beginning to end, it was in-depth and did not leave us wondering what happened or scratching our heads. We get the background storyline of what the characters had been doing, and how and why they need to come together. And after they are reunited, the story progresses into what the final battle and more on the characters personalities and their abilities. What else was good was the ending. It was a long action sequence and was not over as soon as it began. The film did have some great humor to it, and is good for younger viewers due to its lack of blood and minimal gun battle. Its a lot of hand to hand combat and showings of their super hero powers.

There is not much more to add, because it is something you will have to see for yourself. Even if you’re not a comic fan, it’s a great action movie and story plus the visuals are top notch.

A little background on Sony 4K is that it is not your standard 2K, or 2048 x 1080 pixels. Sony 4K is 4096 x 2160 pixels, and absolutely amazing, colors so vibrant, details so sharp, just flat-out lifelike. I am not sure I have seen a big screen film projected in Sony 4K, maybe I have, but The Avengers took full advantage of the flawless picture that 4K can produce. And matched with the film being 3D, its was perfect. A listing of 4K equipped theaters can be found on their site.

I thought I saw you two there! I agree, the movie was fantastic! I’m not an action or a comic fan, but it was an awesome movie, and I’m glad I saw it. My husband loved it so much, he’s taking the kids back this weekend! 🙂

Shannon, states “Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout, and a mild drug reference (1 reference).” I think he would be alright, I will let Kaila check it out when it hits blu-ray. No gore, not lots of gun battles, lots of action. Check out some of the trailers. I bet he would like it!

Shelly, they will really like it! Awesome movie.

I think that this movie looks awesome and I was hoping we would be able to take Carter. Do you think this movie would be appropriate for his age? I am not sure of the movies rating.
Great review and I’m sure this movie will be a huge success!!
