38 Weeks Pregnant

Our Family Journal

This morning I had my weekly appointment. I expressed my concerns to my doctor that the baby is moving less, much less. He sent me off for a non-stress test which she failed. Her heart rate is slow and she was just sleeping. No matter how many times they tried to wake her up she stayed asleep. I was then sent for an ultrasound and got to see her breathing. I also got to see her long hair quickly as it passed by on the screen. I wasn’t able to see her face or anything else because I was in for a quick test but after checking everything she’s clearly ready to meet the world.

Better news, I’m 3 cms dilated but if she does not come on her own her birthday will be 6-6-2012 as I will be induced. I have never been induced nor do I want to be but my doctor said everything looks really great and I won’t need much of a push to go into active labor. That’s if I make it until the 6th…..

Gosh, you have to be about so tired of waiting. I remember the end of my pregnancies and just couldn’t wait for it to happen. Usually did in the middle of the night. This had to scare you to death until they did the ultrasound. 2 more days unless you’ve gone in by now…how exciting. I am just so excited to see pics of her. I have 9 grandchildren and each one is really such a blessing and a miracle. Best of luck! You seem to be a real trooper!

All the little things you worry about when your pregnant, glad to her every thing is ok. I haven’t been following your blog for too long but it sure seems like time flew by and it’s almost time for her to be here. How excited you must be!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t wait to see pictures of your sweet baby girl.

Last night, my baby was not moving as much as normal. After I ate breakfast I laid back down, and his movements seemed sluggish, so I called the midwife. They had me do a NST as well. Thankfully, he was fine! It only took like 20 minutes and I was out of there, so I am glad I went. With the holiday weekend, I didn’t want to worry all weekend. Glad your little girl is doing great. I am so glad you are already 3 cm. That is great. They told me I was 3 cm on the outside but 0 cm on the inside ๐Ÿ™ I am so ready to have this baby too! I hope he comes soon!

Glad to hear she’s doing well. Keep a good feel of her. Never doubt yourself for going to ck her out. Its such a simple test to feel that peace of mind. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had high-risk pregnancies where I had NST & ultrasounds alllll the time. Sometimes they passed, sometimes they didn’t. Its nerve wracking. Reason I bring it up, when your faced w/inducing and possible c-section if the baby isn’t ready to come down…just remember the best birth plan means delivering a healthy baby any way you can. Good luck! Am sure you’ll do great & meeting your little girl soon!

Glad to hear she’s doing fine! I had this same issue which scared the crap out of me. I just have a sleepy baby. Hopefully our girls enjoy sleep just as much when they arrive! ๐Ÿ˜‰

She’s prepping for birth is all or so I am told. I’m hoping she’ll be this easy going all of her life. ๐Ÿ˜€
