Super Simple Organic Southern Buttermilk Biscuits

Fun Foods for Families

I think we’ve gone through 3 5 pound bags of flour over the past few weeks with all the fresh bread and dough I have been making. My mission this year is to make even more of my own homemade organic foods and show off just how easy it is to do. These southern style organic buttermilk biscuits took me 10 minutes to prep and 10 minutes to bake, in my book super simple!

Ingredients:

2 cups unbleached organic flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
6 tablespoons organic unsalted butter
1 cup buttermilk

You’re going to place all of the ingredients inside of a food processor and pulse until it is coarse. Then add in your one cup of buttermilk and pulse until it is just together. It will be wet and sticky!

Place the dough on a well floured board and gently press out. Don’t do this too much or use a rolling pin.

I used a small cup to cut out round biscuits. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees and place your biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.

Simply bake for 10-13 minutes.

these look yummy and pretty easy to make. My kids love biscuits. I don’t have a food processor so not sure the recipe would work with out one. But I would love to start making things from scratch.
