Big Girl Bed

Our Family Journal

It seems like just yesterday Kaila was getting her big girl bed and now in just one blink Brooklin is happily greeting her own big girl bed. I know she’s been ready to move into her own twin size bed for quite some time now and that it was only a matter of time.

Today we moved her crib out and started setting up her beautiful new bed.

She was thrilled with her bed as she said as we put it all together.

Tonight I crawled into her bed and laid next to her. While reading her story she said “my bed, my big girl bed.” I just kissed my baby to sleep and placed her in her very own big girl bed. This moment is totally bittersweet. Soon I will lay a new baby in her crib and our world will change.

So Sweet! I remember feeling that way with my little girl (who is 10 but will remain little for a while longer).

Now I am really teary because my kids are so old I cant much remember them going from crib to bed. I do however remember putting the crib away for good. And THAT was surely a sad day. I did like when the kids were in beds though because reading was so much nicer when you could snuggle IN bed and read, and leave your happily slumbering angels in there without moving them. ahhhh…what sweetness!

Awwww, one of the milestones that are like you said bitter sweet. What a cute bed/bed set. She looks happily cozy in it! And here soon you will be filling her old crib with your new one, how exciting!

What a sweet milestone. My parents decided to move me to a double bed when I was however old…I always wonder why!

new mommy hormones still crazy over here and of course this made me cry. I was just sitting staring at my baby and how I couldn’t wait to snuggle with her in bed tonight.

Sarah moved to her twin bed at 2. But I was totally ready because she was jumping out of her crib.

Brooklin is going to love her big girl bed!
