For our trip in Cleveland, Ohio we were put up in the DoubleTree Lakeside by Hilton. This is a great location to stay in if you’re spending sometime in Cleveland, Ohio. Not only is it in the heart of Downtown, it is around a large number of things to do. It is located about 20 minutes north of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and to top it all, the hotel is right on the shore of Lake Erie providing some great views of the lake and downtown along with being surrounding by many things to do for adults and their family.
What is great about the DoubleTree Lakeside is its central position of a long list of things-to-do in Downtown Cleveland. It is a few blocks from the Rock & Roll hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, and the USS Cod which is docked in Cleveland, OH. These are all great things for the family to do. But that is just one direction from the hotel. When go the other direction you come across the restaurants and entertainment of East 4th Street, which includes restaurants such as Pura Vida by Brandt Evans, the Green House Tavern and many others. Also on East 4th Street is the famous House of Blues and across is The Arcade, America’s first indoor shopping mall in 1890.
And if you want to observe the city from the highest point check out the Observation Deck on Terminal Tower which is near Public Square, home to the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, both within walking distance from E 4th and the Lakeside DoubleTree.
The hotel is also down the way from the Cleveland Browns Stadium and a short ride to Progressive Field, The Q (Quicken Loans Arena), Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center and Playhouse Square. Playhouse Square the biggest performing arts and theater district outside of New York City, its awesome. And if you want something different and very entertaining be sure to check out Cleveland’s historic Warehouse District which has a wide range of restaurants, galleries, shops, businesses and nightclubs. There is something for everyone all throughout the day.
