New High Tech Gadgets Help Parents Get Through The Flu – Safety 1st Giveaway!

You are here: Home / Giveaways / New High Tech Gadgets Help Parents Get Through The Flu – Safety 1st Giveaway!

Giveaways Pet Life

Runny nose, sneezing – the cold and flu season is here. Each year up to 20% of people come down with the flu, with activity peaking in February, according to the CDC. The flu fully hit our house just last week with each of us suffering through fevers, body aches, and the whole nine. We each were hit but as a parent watching my children go through it was harder than going through it myself.

There are a few new high tech items from Safety 1st and I’m so glad we were sent these items to help us get through the flu.

Safety 1stProGrade VersaScan TALKING Thermometer: This NEW thermometer takes a one-second reading, plus it talks! It has a human voice read-out option, and the VersaScan can also be used to measure object temperatures, like food and bath water. Other great options include: Fever Light Ring shows red for high temperatures, 30 memory recall for temperature and time, auto shut-off and low battery indicator. It retails for $39.99.

Safety 1st Sound Moments Audio Monitor: When children are not feeling well a monitor is needed more than ever. This NEW monitor features four channels to minimize interference, 600+ Foot Range. The Parent Unit has a quick mute button, volume-sensitive sound lights. While the Baby Unit has a digital clock, soft-glow tap-on/off nightlight and a pager if the Parent Unit is misplaced. It retails for $39.99.

Giveaway!

We have one Safety 1st Sound Moments Audio Monitor to also give away.

Main Entry: Tell me how do you get through the flu and what products help your kiddos.

We are pretty old school here. Brought up with a wash cloth and vicks on my chest and chicken noodle soup and I have passed that on to my kids. If it gets real bad and they need more we go the Robatussion route and after that is a trip to see the Doc.
Little kids are sick when they say they are sick but its funny once they hit school age how they can be so sick and gonna die in the morning and you tell them well why dont you stay home and we can go to the doctor and suddenly they are better

  194. Michele P. says

    02/12/2012 at 3:03 pm

lots of rest, over the counter meds and making sure our hands are washed/sanitized so that we don’t spread the love to others in the family… (oh and usually we use paper plates, plastic utensils and straws to keep the germ spreading to a minimum if someone in the family is already sick)

When ever my daughter gets sick we go for tylenol (off brand not the actual stuff), vicks vapor rub on the bottom of her feet and on her chest, humidifier, and boggie wipes in hand. I know we will do the same for my son when he gets sick to. We also use a safety first pacifier thermometer that has been a blessing to keep an eye on our daughter when she was sick or just teething. I do everything I can to get my kids feeling better as quick as possible with first signs of a cold or and sickness.

I don’t get the flu too often. I stay away from others during the flu season. I also use a lot of hand sanitizer. I wash my hands often too. I am fortunate that I am not near children who seem to be sick a lot.

I’m pregnant and I have a 15-month-old so we don’t let sick people visit us. I’m also lucky enough to be a stay at home mom and my little guy rarely gets sick cause he’s usually home with me. I definitely wash my hands all the time and we take vitamins!

We try to eat healthy meals, take a daily vitamin, get plenty of sleep and wash our hands frequently.

As my son is just getting over his 1st cold, I am really inexperienced in this. What helped him most was steam from a hot shower. I also really like my cool air humidifier and vicks baby vaporub
