23 Weeks Pregnant: Coping With Round Ligament Pain

You are here: Home / Uncategorized / Our Family Journal / 23 Weeks Pregnant: Coping With Round Ligament Pain

Our Family Journal

Just a few weeks ago I was saying to everyone I don’t even feel pregnant, I feel great! The truth is that I do feel great, morning sickness is now a thing of the past and I almost forgot how dreadful it was. This week especially the aches and pains of pregnancy have settled in as my belly and baby continues to grow.

Making it all worse is the round ligament pain that my doctor is hoping will go away. Being my third pregnancy it’s pretty common to experience round ligament pain throughout pregnancy. I’d rather have 20 weeks of morning sickness then this pain to get worse. I never had round ligament pain with my other pregnancies so this was all new to me.

My dreams of running/exercising during this pregnancy totally crushed….

It sucks that some things get worse with each new pregnancy. I’ve only had two so far. My first pregnancy was perfect and with my second is when I started having ligament pains and then that cramping you get after you give birth, AH! That was terrible with my second! lol

It is during this trimester that you must do a several exercises to help you move your muscles to avoid problems such as preclampsia and eclampsia. Also, these exercises should assist you in your delivery as well. Consult your doctor about these exercises on your next appointment.
