Is Your Kiddo A Chef? Mini Chef Video Contest

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Avocados from Mexico for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My kids love avocado, partly because I love it and they’ve always had it. There are so many great things about avocados including important vitamins that growing bodies need. I have quite a few snack recipes that are not only easy for kids to make but also a favorite around our house.

Green eggs and ham.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 Hard boiled Eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • toast
  • ham

How to:

It’s so simple to create a fun dish. I call this green eggs and ham. Simply boil eggs and mash the avocado and eggs and add mayo. I add mayo so 1/4 cup is an estimate. I also use whatever bread I have laying around. It’s great on a hearty multi grain bread for kids. Add ham, lunch meat will do but I like chopping up little bits of ham and adding it in. Kids love this snack and the name is so fun!

There are so many great and easy recipes that kids can create. So get your kids thinking about a fun new video contest from Avocados of Mexico.

Starting November 14th, Avocados from Mexico is hosting a video contest for parents of children ages 5-15. Submit a 1-3 minute video of your child/children preparing an avocado dish and be sure to have them include why they love avocados and the catchy Avocados from Mexico jingle found on their website. Videos will be judged on the Mini Chef’s personality and the presence of avocado.

One grand prize winner gets $1,000 in cash plus an HD Camcorder (for future home videos!), a Nintendo 3D, 2 games and a personalized Mini Chef jacket. Nine runners up win big too with an HD Camcorder, a Nintendo 3D and a personalized Mini Chef jacket. Tons of great prizes and tons of chances to win, whats not to love?

Get your video in by December 4th and check back on December 6th to see if your video is one of 10 finalists. Public voting will take place on YouTube December 6-11. The video with the most Likes wins and will be posted on the website December 12th. Enter the Mini Chef Video Contest

Who would’ve thought that my son would actually like avocados. I guess our love for Chipotle and all it’s guacamole glory has helped a lot.

We are eager to find and try new recipes that incorporate avocados. They are yummy.

I love avocados – but I can’t get my sons to try them yet. They are so damn picky! Not all green things taste blah, lol
