Brooklin’s Big Ordeal – Trip To The ER

You are here: Home / Uncategorized / Our Family Journal / Brooklin’s Big Ordeal – Trip To The ER

Our Family Journal

I literally was at home enough to stop the car and drop off Kaila after Girl Scouts today, my husband kissed me goodbye and off I went to my night class. 15 minutes later and very upset sounding Del called. I was just pulling into my school parking lot after ducking through rush hour traffic in time to make it to class.

My husband can handle a lot of things but his voice was clearly concerned. Brooklin cut her finger while playing in her room with her sister, so she went and told my husband because she had seen blood on her hand and knew she was hurt. He did what every normal parent would do and cleaned it off, and got a bandaid and tried to apply it. It looked like a small cut but it wouldn’t stop bleeding so 10 minutes later he phoned me.

I again ducked through rush hour traffic, rain pouring from the sky with everyone  driving what felt like 10 times slower than normal. In the car on the way to the ER Kaila started crying, I think we were all a little anxious and so was she. I reassured her she was a great big sister and she was such a big help as my husband dropped us in front of the door. The nurses got her back right away, bandaged up the cut and the doctor quickly made his way into our room.

Indeed Brooklin had cut her and and the bleeding would not stop. Lucky for her she just needed a good cleaning and a little glue.

Our home is pretty babyproof so we’re not sure what she cut herself on but it was a deep small little cut. I was taken aback by Kaila’s response to the ordeal, nervous and scared she clearly loves her baby sister very much.

We’re home, and warm, in bed. We’re all together and just appreciate one another that much more.

Oh Brooklin…..what will I ever do with you?

Poor baby! I bet Del was worried, no one likes to see their kiddos in pain. Glad she was basically okay, though.

Awww she sounds like Emma … as usual. My mom stocked me up on skin glue, kids seem to have little gushers. Glad she’s okay though!

Oh, poor thing. I’m glad she’s okay. I’m sure it was scary for Kaila, too. Poor things.
