My Invisalign Journey – Getting Impressions Done

You are here: Home / Uncategorized / Our Family Journal / My Invisalign Journey – Getting Impressions Done

Our Family Journal

Last week I was finally able to start the process of my Invisalign treatment. After you’ve decided Invisalign is right for you or your teen the next step are impressions. I’ll admit I was slightly nervous, what would it taste like am I going to have some sort of anxiety attack. I’m laughing now because of how easy the steps were and how bad the impression components didn’t taste. What was all that anxiety about? Oh yeah, the unknown nervousness. That is my actual impression goo in the picture, it tastes like mint and didn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth.

It was easy, and I got to see a young man getting his very first trays in next to me. He was so excited about starting before school and as a parent it was refreshing to see. I know one day my daughters may also need treatment it’s encouraging to see that kids are liking the treatment. I overheard another young boy ask his mother if he could get Invisalign shouting “oh mom, look there’s Invisalign!” Clearly displeased with the metal in his mouth as his two brothers happily chewed on gum from his mothers purse. All of it unfolding right before me at my orthodontists office.

I found what’s truly unique about my Invisalign treatment besides the kids who all seemed so educated about it is all the science behind Invisalign. My impressions will be sent to Costa Rica where a digital image will be taken. That will then be sent to my orthodontist and then every single tray in my treatment plan will come back to me in Oregon where every few weeks my orthodontist will give me new trays. I know that there are actual people behind the science who will touch every tray and know that it’s being made for me.

I am really anxious to start treatment, you know that whole fear of the unknown. I’m ready for this change!

I’m a member of the Mom’s Advisory Board, and I am recieving complimentary Invisalign treatment.

This is a great post and I am glad to hear that you have now found Invisalign!
Invisalign has proven to be a great product that many of my patients love. The benefits of Invisalign far exceed those from traditional metal braces!

I’m not a fan of the impression process, I always feel like I’m going to gag. But it’s over as quick as it began so I can live through it. I’m thinking of trying invisalign. Sadly I haven’t warn my retainers the way that I should have after having braces.

    Fantastic post!

There are a lot of people like yourself who do not know about Invisalign. It is a great new product that many people love and have seen great results from! The best part is that it is clear and removable! No more metal braces and food getting stuck in your brackets!

I never had braces but I am pretty sure Roo is going to need them, so I am glad that technology like this exists…
