My Diaper Genie Party – Win Your Own SWAG From The Party!!

You are here: Home / Giveaways / My Diaper Genie Party – Win Your Own SWAG From The Party!!

Giveaways

Last week we swabbed our Brooklin’s nursery to find out just how filled with germs her living area is and yesterday we got the results LIVE during a party at my house. In front of everyone Dr. Tanner Skyped the results of my swab test which I am actually really pleased about. Granted, my doorknobs need a good cleaning and the rails of her crib could use a wipe down more often my home was pretty clean.

diaper genie party

That’s excluding the results from “mom’s choice swab” which was my garbage can. I plan on replacing that garbage can this week with a hand free motion system as my results for my garbage can were quite disturbing and it’s not like I don’t clean the garbage can.

During the party we discussing how well we’re all cleaning our nursery’s and what we could do to change things. Some of the moms discussed where we change our children and just how germ infected the diaper changing area can be. Parents who do have a changing table should be regularly disinfecting the area.

I also got a chance to show the moms at the party some of my favorite features of the Diaper Genie, we all agreed the double lock system is genius because when we think about diaper trashcans the most obvious concern is smell and how sanitary it is. I was able to show the moms just how sanitary the Diaper Genie is and they were all so excited to go home with one. Here’s a photo of me showing some of the moms some of my favorite features.

Diaper Genie Product Features

Uses the patented AIR-TITE System, a multi-layer odor barrier film technology and the Push-N-Lock clamp, to seal away odor better than the competition It features a double-clamp, air-lock design that helps prevent odors and germs from escaping to provide ultimate odor control.

  • Easy-to-use, one-hand design unlike the original Diaper Genie System, no twisting is required; They have a hands free foot pedal on this model
  • Pail holds more than 30 small diapers; Up to 38 newborn diapers
  • Comes fully assembled and ready to use no batteries required:

Diaper Genie was kind enough to send all of the attendees plenty of swag including a Diaper genie system of their very own. Kaila and I had a lot of fun putting together the swag bags.

diaper genie party swagThe moms were just thrilled with all of the goodies, Tina especially loved the mini-mouse.

in house baby shower diaper genie partyAll in all we all learned a little more about how to keep our children’s rooms/areas cleaner and maybe a lesson in areas that we lack. Dr. Tanner provided us with some clean and healthy tips for a germ free nursery which include information on the ABCs of disinfectants vs. cleaners. Did you know that cleaners remove soils but spread germs? To disinfect correctly in a nursery your baby should not be anywhere near the area you plan to clean, then spray or wipe the area with your disinfectant. Then you want to use a soft cloth to make sure you wipe us any residual disinfectant. Parents should also be disinfecting floors with small children in the home, although I think it’s a pretty good rule of thumb always.

There’s a lot of other tips but join Playtex Baby Thursday Sep 28th from 2-3EST for a Facebook Q&A with germ expert and microbiologist Dr. Tanner. He’ll be answering questions and giving advice to parents.

I did own a diaper genie. I found a nursery is the easiest room in a house to keep clean. The baby is to small to mess with things and I always found my baby’s nursery to be peaceful because I made sure not to leave anything out of place. My niece just had a baby and she could use one.

I didn’t have a nursery but I kept all my baby areas clean with bleach wipes, good old paper towel+cleaner scrubbing, a steam mop, and frequent laundry, I cloth diapered most of the time, so didn’t use a diaper genie, but it’d been good to have when I used regular diapers. I wish they had a similiar system for cloth diapers (I used a wet bag and dry bag with tea tree oil soaked cloths for those)

My husband & I are expecting our first child in January (2012), so we still have a few months left before we get to truly discover the joy of germs!!! I am already becoming rather OCD about making sure the nursery is spic’n’span daily, although I’m sure my efforts will become more lax once the baby actually arrives! I would LOVE to have Diaper Genie for our little one–I definitely think it helps make a more sanitary & odor-free (or at least LESS odor!) household! Thank you so much for putting together a great giveaway!

Our nursery isn’t hard to keep clean, there’s just the babies’ cribs, a queen bed, and a small bookshelf for blankets and a clock. Unfortunately there is usually 2-3 used diapers laying around too from middle of the night changes lol, need to be better about throwing those away! And with 3 in diapers the garbages and my munchkin pail downstairs by the changing table get full way too quickly.

I owned the diaper genie elite. It was great in the nursery keeping diapers out of the way and the house smelling clean. In our nursery we happened to do quite a bit remodeling which helped keeping it clean. We replaceds carpet flooring with laminit floor. Quick and easy to clean every day. Also we were good about not keeping so many knick knacks and decorations in the room that would collect so much dust.

I had a diaper genie and it was definitely convenient.

It’s easy to keep my son’s nursery clean- it doesn’t get used much because he’s always in our room! haha. But in all seriousness, I use bleach and alcohol to disinfect and try to keep up with cleaning all throughout the week.

I used clorox wipes and lemon pledge on wood surfaces. I would steam the wood floor. I would wash clothes in Drift. I like to wipe crib and door knobs with disinfectant wipes. I wanted a diaper genie when I was prego but money was tight. I also liked the lysol spray.

I use lysol wipes and wipe all hard surfaces down frequently. I also wash crib sheets frequently. I had the original diaper genie with my first and didn’t like the twisting factor. Now that the diaper genie doesn’t have that twisting thing, I’d be more interested in trying it.
