Dear Summer,

Our Family Journal Uncategorized

Another year has come and gone, our 2011 summer is now sweet memories to hold on to. As summers come and go I start to appreciate the time we spent together as a family. Times at the park, water fountain, the beach, times with family and friends in faraway places. We did a lot of adventuring this summer and we did it together as a family.

Summer is about crisp clean air.

Summer is about the song sung by the bugs in the dark.

Summer is about laying in the sand.

Summer is about looking at the moon and wondering “mommy what’s up there?”

Summer is about the frogs that groan at night.

Summer is about ice cream dripping down your hands.

Summer is about sweet watermelon.

But most of all, summer for us is all about family.

Thanks for another memorable summer!

– Kristin

It always seems to go by so much faster than all the other seasons, doesn’t it? My girls were born on the 23rd, first day of autumn, we always use it as an excuse to have one last day to celebrate summer.

I completely agree! It’s funny how much more of an effort we make to *do* things as a family in the summertime. For us, it’s just so fleeting that I think we want to be out in the sunshine as much as possible since we get so little of it here in the Northeast.
